Even before the song airs in April 2010, here are the lyrics to the political satire song, "Hit the road Barack". Special thanks to the TMRM band, Wavy Space for carring writer/host Ben Copeland through the song. The song was originally done by Ray Charles with the new lyrics by Ben Copeland. Hopefully, Ray will not turn over in his grave, offended since we do love his music. The original lyrics (small font) are intertwined so you can remember the tune. Enjoy!

Hit the road Barack

Originally – “Hit the road Jack” – by Ray Charles

Hit the road Barack, so don’t ya make us real poor, real poor, real poor, real poor.
Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more.
Hit the road Barack, don’t ya make us more poor.
Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.
Liar you say?
What you say?
Hit the road Barack, so don’t ya make us real poor, real poor, real poor, real poor.
Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more.
Hit the road Barack, our wallets can’t give no more.
Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.

Woah Bama, O Bama, don't tax away our green,
Woah Woman, oh woman, don't treat me so mean,
You're spendin’ more money than any President I've seen.
You're the meanest old woman that I've ever seen.
The debt is going to blow
I guess if you say so
We’ll have to sell our things you know.  Ain’t right!
I have to pack ma things and go. (That's right)

Hit the road Barack, so don’t ya make us real poor, real poor, real poor, real poor.
Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more.
Hit the road Barack, don’t ya make us more poor.
Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.
Liar we say?
What you say?
Hit the road Barack, so don’t ya make us real poor, real poor, real poor, real poor.
Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more.
Hit the road Barack, our bottoms can’t take no more.
Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.
