Whitehouse Declares TMRM Arrived

In its rejection letter on attending the TMRM "First Anniversary Show" taping (4/11/06), the Whitehouse acknowledged (or declared, if you prefer) that Ben Copeland is recognized as a television producer, creator, and host. The letter was specifically addressed to the "Producer, Creator, and Host".

So, if no one else nationally knows about the program, we can feel comfortable that the Secret Service and the CIA are likely informed and most probably have even watched it. But then, I have a personal letter from former President Bill Clinton, so I've probably been on their books for a while - TMRM is just another entry in their "blog". <grin>

Bottom line, whether you like the current Administration or not, at least give them credit for declaring on a national level that Ben Copeland, TMRM, has arrived as a successful television personality. They even sent their best wishes (but must have gotten lost in the mail).

If you want to see more of TMRM on television, feel free to write your local stations and recommend they pick up the show. If nothing else, it could provide so extra income to get the airplane <bigger grin> !!

And to think, I didn't even get a response (RSVP) from our Mayor who was also invited to the Anniversary Special. However, this is not really a surprise since they (City Council) doesn't promote a truly Charlotte citizen only function. I guess they don't enjoy the "free speech" unless it compliments their endeavors.

You're absolutely right on this one. It's frustrating to watch the City Council meetings where they ooh and ahh to people's faces and then do exactly whatever fits in their agenda. In their zeal for adundant revenue, they are ignoring the voice of Charlotteans. But at least they're successful at doing that. We wouldn't want them to be disappointed by their own rulings, reversals, ad nauseum. All that huff and puff about having the NASCAR museum built here, but then they turn around and rent the space for $1 per year for 99 years! A normal day of big business doing for big business. It's truly.. never about the citizens.

Personally, I think that anyone who received an RSVP invitation to your anniversary show and failed to reply speaks volumes about their own interests. Politicians act like they deserve some kind of celebrity status. "Ooh, touch me, and your finger will turn to gold." I've got a finger for them and it's pointed at their lack of citizen interest.

I tire of bringing in people from as far away as California to run our school system. Why is it that the Charlotte City Council never trust it's own citizens to get the job done right? There has been no local person in the position of school superintendant for at least 50 years. The last interim was a great choice, but maybe that was because she had an interest in the students. I watched her on UNCC chanel in a couple of interveiws, but since the City Council is not even concerned with local TV programming, I don't imagine they gleaned anything from what she had to say.

Let's face it. Failing to reply to your RSVP was rude. No excuses. And I will not be making any excuses when it's time to vote for "local talent" again.
