Welcome to The Modern Renaissance Man !!

This is a site exploiting yours (and my) interest in television and most specifically, The Modern Renaissance Man television show. It is a show designed to provide humoruous, musical, and, hopefully, thought-provoking entertainment. We describe the program as a cross between 60-Minutes (Andy Rooney) and Tool Time with musical interludes. The number one criteria for producing the show is all who participate (cast and crew) have FUN!

Hopefully, you've had the opportunity to watch it. Unfortunately, if you don't live in Charlotte-Mecklenburg, NC you will not get the cable channel. However, when I'm extremely successful (making lots of money <big-grin> with the show and it is picked up by some media to promote to a greater audience, then you might get to see it in other areas - write you local station.

Please check out the various entries and pop in any comments you like. Of course, just as I'm the Producer of the show, I do have to review, edit, and/or cut as appropriate (to what I consider bad taste). In general, only vulger language (including racial slurs, ethnic slurs, etc,) will stop your entry from getting published.

TMRM is glad you stopped by and hopes that you will comment on the show or other categories listed. Your feedback is appreciated!

The Modern Renaissance Man presently airs on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month at 8:30pm on the Time-Warner cable network in Charlotte-Mecklenburg county. However, with your help, it may grow beyond this boundry. Feel free to contact other stations requesting the show on their channel so we can get a broader viewing audience.  Thanks!

A live audience makes the show so much better! Love to have you.

At this time in the life of the show, reservations are the only requirement so we can plan.
There are usually a few audience members; unfortunately, for the First Anniversary taping
all the planned audience failed to appear - their loss since customized, hand-made t-shirts
were passed out and a great time was had by the cast and crew! Our goal is to have fun
making the show... or else quit.

The next taping session is Tuesday, May 9th (6-9:30pm). If you want to come, send me direct
email with the number of people (and adults vs children if appropriate).  The audience does not
have to arrive until around 7pm unless they want to watch the setup activities (i.e., the TV magic).

I got one of your flyers in the University Library parking lot. The lady there said it was a good show for families to watch. So we'll tune in tonight. Most Fridays are too blood and guts, and I get tired of Disney. Actually commercial free sounds good to me.

The lady mentioned a bill that does away with public channels. And more stuff would be on your blog site. Your blog is nice. Hope I can write those people over the weekend, but I have three children, ages 3, 5, & 8.

The soapbox was right on as the movie "United 93" came out this past week: the telling of the 9/11 plane that went down in Pa.
California movie critic, Matthew Wanniski, sent me his review. He asked the same thing you did... "has the media forgotten 9/11 so soon?" Kudos on your insightfulness.
Deidrea and Jason were great. Too bad you're not an hour show. Would love to have heard their thoughts on the soapbox issue.

You find "re-cycling" is not only good to the environment, it's just plain fun! Besides, it's not as dangerous as all the flying glass when you simply reformat it with a hammer.

      Hello TMRM...

I caught the last two shows of November. Is the opening supposed to have black lines running through it? I'm not exactly TV savy...but I hope it's not my TV acting up every first and third Friday!

I've missed Dave...but Jeff and Trip have been great. And where have the skirts gone? Then again, when the guys do a Jimi Hendrix tune...somehow a skirt seems out of place. However, bandanas...

Your banter with Jeff and Trip has been fun to watch and listen to...ala three guys and a mike. I'm thinking you could write a political satire...you read a verse while the guys play in the background...then all three sing the chorus...too much eh? Maybe a bit too much.. Ray Stevens? It's just great that you guys click..and any chance to bank on that would be fun. And if it flops, blame George! In fact "Blame George" could be the title of the satirical piece. You might even get airtime on radio. Now this is something you haven't done before, right?

Maybe I should have typed this in the "what would you like to see on TMRM" page! Naaa, too late. Take care. Bug
